ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Solo Game Developer—Game Design, Visual Art, UI/UX

Phuthorn Course is a self-initiated game that I developed solo from concept to launch. I created all the visual content—including character designs, environment art, UI layouts, and in-game animations. I also designed the gameplay mechanics and user interaction flow.
The only external contribution was the background music, which I commissioned from a freelance composer.

GAME FLOW

INSPIRED BY

IDEA SKETCH
These sketches set the tone for the story, showing the protagonist’s shift from city life to rural solitude. The opening scene frames his new environment, while the character postures reflect his determination, struggles, and resilience. Together, they lay the foundation for the visual storytelling.

STYLE GUIDE / COLOR PALETTE
The visual style embraces hand-drawn 2D artwork, carrying a raw, organic quality while remaining full of life. The color palette features toned-down hues, reducing vibrancy while maintaining a charming and inviting aesthetic. This balance enhances the unique atmosphere of the game, blending roughness with warmth to create an engaging visual experience.

GAME ENGINE
Godot 4, a free and open-source game engine

PROTOTYPE PREVIEW
The success of this genre often hinges on its combat design, and Phuthorn Course truly shines with its unique mix of humor, unpredictability, and cultural flair. Unlike typical beat 'em ups with basic punches and kicks, it features exaggerated Muay Thai-inspired moves and quirky animations that turn every battle into a delightful surprise.
